HEC uses a special education curriculum designed for children or troubled teens who have difficulty in comprehending basic reading, writing and math skills and in interacting normally with other students. The education program is standards aligned, individualized, dynamic, challenging, varied, and follows a K-12 curriculum that includes subjects like: language arts, math, social science, science, vocational, and physical education.

Students participate in the individualized education program that supports their education and behavioral goals. We offer a high teacher to student ratio supplemented by a resource assistant who works one-on-one for remediation. By following the standards aligned curriculum, students are that much closer to reaching a high school milestone and earning a certificate of completion.
